Dear Friends and Family of Sullivan First Christian Church,

Today, we find ourselves living in a world that overwhelms us with negative news and difficulty on a daily basis. It is easy to get distracted by the difficulties of our day which is why we want to offer some words of encouragement from the prophet Isaiah. He once spoke these words to a nation that needed to be reminded of the importance of perseverance and fortitude of faith.

Isaiah 40:31 (ESV) – But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah’s words offer us great encouragement today as we face times of difficulty. As most of you are aware, Sullivan County has become severely impacted the COVID-19 virus in recent days. We have seen a rapid increase in the number of positive cases and every one of us have been affected by this virus in some capacity.

As we have witnessed the number of cases increase significantly over the last week, we realize that it is in the best interest of the safety and physical well being of our church to postpone our in-person services to a later date.

  • Starting Sunday, August 23, 2020 through August 30th we will only be hosting a LIVE online service at 10:30 a.m. This can be viewed on our website ( or you can join us on Facebook. You can also listen to the 10:30 a.m. service live on the radio at 95.3 WNDI.

  • STEP #1 – Pray for your church, family, community, country and those directly affected by COVID-19. Pray that God would protect our community from further spread of the virus.
  • STEP #2 – Reflect Christ. In these anxious days, the church (all of us) can shine as a light of hope, care, faith, patience, and prudence.
  • STEP #3 – Continue to support your local church through tithes and offerings. We understand that this is a difficult time for every family emotionally, physically, and financially. Your giving helps us continue to spread the Gospel in our community and beyond. It also helps us continue to minister to those that are impacted socially and economically in this time. One great option to continue your giving can be found through our website (

FCC thanks you for your continual prayer and support as we regular monitor the news and updates from state and local health agencies regarding COVID-19. Our desire is to care for the entire well-being of the individuals and families who worship at Sullivan First Christian Church—which includes physical as well as spiritual health. We will continue to evaluate the current situation and keep you updated on our return to in-person worship services as soon as possible.

Fervent: A Woman’s Battle Plan for Seious, Specific, and Strategic Prayer

Wednesday Nights @ 6:30pm in room A102

Fervent is a hands-on, knees-down, don’t-give-up action guide to practical, purposeful praying. Each chapter will guide you in crafting prayer strategies that hit the enemy where it hurts, letting him know you’re on to him and that you won’t back down. Because with every new strategy you build, you’re turning the fiercest battles of life into precise strikes against him and his handiwork, each one infused with the power of God’s Spirit.

The R12 Project: Think Like Jesus
Wednesday Nights @ 6:30pm in room WC100

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to think like Jesus? This 12 week study will help you learn to do just that by learning to develop a better Biblical Worldview. It is based off of Paul’s advice to the church in Romans 12:2 where he reminds followers of Christ: “Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
